1. 15th Indio-Russian Bilateral Annual Summit held in New Delhi
15th Indio-Russian Bilateral Annual Summit was held in Delhi 11 December 2014.
ii) President Vladimir Putin of Russia visited India to hold the summit on the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
iii) Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin released a joint statement in which both the countries agreed on a vision for strengthening the India-Russia partnership over the next decade.

2. ICICI Bank, American Express launch transparent credit card
Private sector lender ICICI BankBSE -0.37 % today launched India's first credit card with a transparent design.
ii) The card, part of ICICI Bank's 'Gemstone Collection', has been launched in association with American Express.
iii) The 'ICICI Bank Coral American Express Credit Card' will provide benefits on the lifestyle front, including an introductory extended credit period offer and bonus reward points on online transactions, ICICI Bank Executive Director Rajeev Sabharwal said here.
3. Asha Bhosle receives Lifetime Achievement Award at DIFF
i) Noted Indian playback singer Asha Bhosle was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 11th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF).
ii) The 81-year-old 'Piya Tu Ab Toh Aja' hitmaker was presented with the prestigious award for her decades of dedication to Indian cinema last night during the opening ceremony of the festival.
iii) After receiving the award, Bhosle treated the audience to an impromptu performance of her most memorable renditions.
4. Ruhi Singh won Miss Universal Peace & Humanity 2014
i) Ruhi Singh of India was in news because she won Miss Universal Peace & Humanity 2014 at Beirut, Lebanon on 10 December 2014.
ii) She is the first person to win this pageant from India and she won the pageant among the 145 other countries. She was Femina Miss India East first runner-up in 2011.
iii) Rebecca Boggiano from Australia finished as first runner-up and Sofia Alkhadra from Palestine was the second runner-up.
iv) Miss Universal Peace & Humanity 2014 Pageant promotes, inspires, and empowers all women to develop and utilize their strengths and inner qualities to positively impact all people throughout the world.
5. Madan Mitra remanded in CBI custody
i) West Bengal Transport Minister, Madan Mitra, has been remanded in CBI custody till December 16, a CBI spokesperson said.
ii) Mitra was arrested by the Central agency on Friday in connection with the multi-crore Saradha scam. He was presented before the Alipore court this afternoon. Along with Mitra, Naresh Balodia – who too was arrested on Friday – has been remanded in custody till December 16. Balodia was the legal advisor to Saradha group chairman, Sudipta Sen and the group companies.
iii) Both the minister and Balodia have been charged with criminal conspiracy, cheating and misappropriation. Mitra has also been charged with ‘deriving undue financial benefits’ from the Group. 

6. India, China support trilateral dialogue with U.S. to deal with global challenges
i) India and China today supported the idea of a trilateral dialogue involving them and the US to deal with major global challenges and ensure better mutual ties.
ii) “I agree with the proposal to launch a trilateral talk between China, the US and India. I think it is a good idea. China is open to any dialogue if it produces peace and development. I think it is a very positive idea,” Chinese Ambassador Le Yucheng said.
iii) Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh also supported the idea, saying such a proposal will enhance cooperation between the three countries which have strong ties bilaterally with each other.

7. Ebola death toll climbs to 6,583
i) Nearly 6,600 people have now died from the Ebola virus, almost all of them in west Africa, the World Health Organisation said.
ii) The UN health agency reported that as of December 10, there had been 18,188 cases of infection from the deadly virus in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, of whom 6,583 people had died.

8. Clarke fears for future after new injury setback
i) Australia captain Michael Clarke has raised the prospect that his cricket career could be over after injuring his hamstring in the opening test against India in Adelaide.
ii) Clarke said he intended to keep playing but the latest setback, which the 33-year-old said would force him to miss the remaining three tests of a series, had caused him to think about his future.
iii) Clarke did not finish the match, which ended with Australia securing a thrilling 48-run victory, after he hurt himself on the final day.

9. Lyon bowls Australia to epic victory
i) Australia beat India by 48 runs in a thrilling end to the first test at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, with Nathan Lyon picking up seven wickets after Virat Kohli scored an inspired century for the visitors.
ii) Set 364 to win after Australia declared on their overnight score of 290-5, India seemed to be on their way to an unlikely victory after a brilliant 141 from Kohli and a gritty 99 from opener Murali Vijay.
iii) But Lyon, a former groundsman at Adelaide Oval, turned the match the home team's way with his offspinners, as India's tail collapsed and the tourists were bowled out for 315.
