CTS Placement Paper Based on Candidates Real Time Experience 2014

Hi friends, this is Vandana. I am from IIIT-Basar college.
I am from ECE Dept.
I want to share my  CTS off campus interview experience which may be  helpful for you
We attended (290 members from IIIT-Basar) the CTS Written Exam in Vaagdevi Engineering college through JKC on 21 Feb 2014.

Prepare your resume well. Before you attend the written test they will ask your resume and it will be your hall ticket for your exam. And that resume will be considered in your interview also. Include whatever you know perfectly. They don’t see how much you know, But they will see how perfect you  are in whatever you know.

Totally there were three rounds:
•             Written Test
•             Technical Interview
•             HR Interview

Written Test was for 55 marks and Time limit was 60 mins
•             30 marks for  Reasoning:
Data Interpretation, Coding, Picture series, syllogism etc.,

•             25 marks for English:
Sentence Correction, Ordering the Sentences, Passages etc.,

It was very easy. After one week the results were announced and I was in the Short listed candidates.
 Out of 300 members from my college 169 members were selected.
Interviews were held on March 7th. We went to Vaagdevicollege on that day at 9 am.

My Technical interview was conducted at 4pm. It went on like this.
Me: Good evening Sir

TR: Good evening, take your seat
Me: Thank you sir

TR: Introduce yourself
Me: I told very confidently about myself

TR: What is Data Definition Language and Data Manipulation Language?
Me: told.

TR: What is your Major Project and what is your role in it?
Me: Explained very well

TR: Why did you choose ECE?
Me: told.

In TR he asked me questions which are like HR questions.
TR: Do you want to do higher studies?
Me: I said No, and explained reasons for it.

TR: Do you want to go for government jobs?
Me: I again said No and explained reasons for it.

TR: Can you relocate?
Me: I said yes and gave reasons for it.

TR: Do you have any questions?
Me: I directly asked him whether I was selected or not because he asked me very few Technical Questions.

TR: Yes you are selected and said that your percentage is good, communication skills      are good, confidence levels, eye contact, the way in which you are explaining the answers is good so you are selected.

Me: Thank you so much Sir

Later, he explained me many things about company and its culture and it was like friendly conversation for five mins.

TR: Nice to meet you and all the best for your HR round
Me: Thank you so much for explaining everything about the company and left the room

As TR told I was selected for further round. My HR interview was conducted at 6.30pm.

Me: Good Evening Sir

HR: Good evening Vandana, Take your seat. He saw my achievements in resume and asked about them
Me: Explained

Then he tried to make me feel tense for some time.

HR: Why are you laughing?
Me:I said “I am not laughing sir, I am smiling” in a polite manner.

HR: Ok but why?
Me: I said "Sir, This is the way while I speak to people"

HR: Why did your Percentage get decreased?
Me: I explained very well because I expected this question from him and already prepared to answer it

HR: What do you think is important? Studies or knowledge?
Me: I said both are important and I also said that if we study, we will get knowledge.

HR: What do you know about cognizant which is not there in the company profile?
Me: I said that I saw in Fortune magazine that the company is in 352 position in world as per yesterday’s news and said some other things.

HR: What is your goal?
Me: Told.

HR: Why should I hire you?
Me: Gave very strong points and explained them in detail.

HR: Do you have any questions?
Me: Where can I improve so that I can become a good Cognizant Employee?

HR: Explained and said thanks and all the best for your future
Me: Thank you sir and I left the room

Results were announced on 18th march. 38 students were selected and I was one of them. I am very happy now.

Friends, as per my experience it is not only important what you say but it is also important how you say. So be confident and have smile on your face while going to interview.
