Hello I am Austrin Dabre one of the students shortlisted in Capgemini.

Here is how the complete process of my Capgemini Experience went:

1. APTITUDE TEST.

The Aptitude exam consisted of 3 sections VERBAL, LOGICAL AND QUANTITATIVE.

The total time to complete the 75 questions (25 of each sections) was 1 hour 20 minutes.

The first section on the screen was Verbal followed by Logical and Quants (These come serially but you can choose any section and solve during the test).

The VERBAL section was simple with the Reading Comprehension being very easy with straightforward answers. Synonyms, Antonyms, Text Completion questions were also asked. Overall if a person is well versed with grammar, it is very easy to get most of the questions right. I took about 15 mins to complete this Section.

The LOGICAL section was also quite simple. I had 2 flowcharts with one flowchart having 4 and 2 questions respectively. The flowchart with 4 questions was very easy and straightforward. The flowchart with 2 questions was very time consuming and confusing although I did it too. Then there were questions of Syllogism. If you have a good practice of these questions then these questions are easy to crack. Then were data interpretation questions. I had a line graph with 4 questions. Again this line graph was very easy to read and easily solvable. Also there was a bar graph, it had 3 questions, it was easy but it had many parameters so it was a bit time consuming. Then there were Data Sufficiency questions, again with good practice these questions are easy to solve. It took me about 35 mins to solve the LOGICAL section.

P. S: MOST OF THE LOGICAL SECTION QUESTIONS WERE TAKEN FROM INDIABIX.

Then finally I had the quant section. This was the difficult of all the sections.

Firstly there were 4 questions on functions.

Eg:

x*y=x+y.

x%y=x^y.

x#y=x (x-y).

Find the value of 2#(31*(2%4)).

Something like that.

Then were a mix questions of time and work, time speed and distance. With proper practice these sums are do able. A bit tricky but doable.

Then there were also mixed questions of Mensuration and ratios such as.

If there are three small cubes with sides of the ratio 3: 4: 5 and are melted to form a cuboid with a diagonal 21. Find the ratio of the sides of the cuboid.

A: 3: 4: 5.
B: 6: 8: 10.
C: 9: 12: 15.
D: None of these.

There were also question of geometry.

If a right angled isosceles triangle has a perimeter of 6 Root(3) find the area of the triangle (not sure of the exact value of the perimeter but something like that).

There were also questions of trigonometric functions.

Evaluate tan(7) *tan(46) *tan(77).

Then finally there were question on logarithms.

Log m+ log n= log (m+n) find the value of m as a function of n with the logarithms with a base e.

The quants section was the most time consuming section. I'd personally say that it was not very difficult but yes there were moderately difficult.

GROUP DISCUSSION.

The next round was the group discussions.

I was in the group 3 of the GD round. There were about 12 people in all the groups.

Our group consisted of good talkers.

Once we entered the Conference room the judge was already in there. He made us all sit according to our numbers.

The first thing he said that "ENGLISH IS NOT THE CRITERIA FOR JUDGMENT BUT THE POINTS YOU MAKE IN THE GD".

Our first topic was "THE INFLUENCE OF WESTERN MEDIA ON INDIA".

The judge gave us about 2 mins to jolt down the points.

After that he basically asked each and everyone to raise their opinions. It was sort of like a good discussion. 2 members in our group had not spoken. So the judge stop all of us to speak and gave them an opportunity to speak.

Then after this discussion.

The next topic was "SHOULD THERE BE DICTATORSHIP IN INDIA?".

This session was basically more of a JAM session than that of a GD. The judge asked all of us to go in a chronological order to speak up. Everyone presented their opinions and then it was the end of the GD. The judge was quite impressed by the points everyone one of us had to make and remarked that mostly in GD's he had to get involved into the discussions and steer them, but it was not the case.

After about 40 mins the results of the GD had been announced and of our group only one person had been eliminated.

PERSONAL INTERVIEW.

My interview was exactly after the Lunch break around 3 pm.

I was told to go to the Project Lab of the Computer Science Department in the Agaskar Sir's Cabin.

To my surprise it was the same HR who conducted our GD. The interview went in the following way.

I went near the cabin and asked the HR's permission to get in, he invited me in I greeted him and stood there near the chair until further notice.

INT: Hello Austrin, Good Afternoon take a seat.

You were in the Group of whom I conducted the GD right?

ME: Yes sir.

INT: COULD I HAVE YOUR RESUME?
ME: Yes sir, this is my resume (Handing over my resume).

The HR was having a look at my CV.

INT : Tell me about yourself Austrin.
ME: TOLD.

INT: So Austrin, Stock Market prediction? (MY PROJECT) What is predictive Analysis and how is it implemented in your project?
ME: TOLD (A VERY THOROUGH KNOWLEDGE OF WHATEVER PROJECTS YOU HAVE MENTIONED IN THE CV IS REQUIRED).

INT: What is GPU COMPUTING? (on of the paper presentations I had done).
ME: TOLD.

INT: Nice, Very Good. Austrin yours is the shortest CV I have seen among all the candidates I have had interviews with today.
ME: I was advised into making my CV a one page CV.

INT: That is actually very nice and professional. Good going.

So, Austrin, tell me about your programming skills. Which would be more comfortable with C or JAVA (The only two mentioned languages in my My CV).

ME: I would be more comfortable with C (Being a Comps student I was comfortable with neither (SHAME ON ME :))).

INT: So C is your forte. Great. Write me a source code in C to reverse a string.
ME:  (I FREAKED OUT. I MEAN STRING?) Ok sir sure!

I Wrote utter shit on the paper with I think #include<stdio. H> #include<conio. H> with the only two statements correct and I was not even sure about those two statements.

INT: SO this is the code? You sure it is right?
ME: Sir I am bit confused between the strings.

INT: That is no problem. You are a Comp science student, it won't be a big issue for you. So tell me, what if I don't write the two include statements?
ME: Sir, these include statements are basically preprocessors, and I think without them the project won't be run!

INT: Oh, OK. Good, moving on, have you any idea about LINUX?
ME : Umm, sir the thing is that in these 4 years of practicals LINUX wasn't a part of our curriculum. So sorry sir I don't have an idea on LINUX.

INT: Alright, no problems, Tell what are Operation Systems and Platforms.
ME: Sir basically Operating Systems are System programs and platform is something wherein you develop an application program.

INT: Great!. What are the different types of HARDWARES?
ME: RAM ROM?

INT: Ain't those memory?
ME: Yes those are memory, HARDISK is a type of hardware!

INT: Even a MOUSE is a type of hardware.
ME : Yes sir.

INT: So coming back to memory what happens when there is memory overflow?
ME: Sir we get an error message of STACK OVERFLOW.

INT: Yeah and so how do we add up memory if we don't have any other physical memory present?
ME: Then we use the concept of Virtual memory.

INT: Good. So a collection of lot of Virtual memory is called what?
ME: Sir I think it called as cloud!

INT: How many types of Cloud are there?
ME: Public, Private, Hybrid.

INT: What cloud would you recommend a banking service and why?
ME: Private cloud because of security purposes.

ME: TOLD.

I told about my strength and weakness in my introduction.

INT: Tell me one more of your weakness.
ME: TOLD.

INT: So Austrin Is there anything you would like to ask me?
ME: Sir it would be good if you give me a feedback of our interview? Like how it went.

INT: Sure, Austrin remember one thing, for today's and for the interviews in your future, look at the dialogue you have with the interviewer, and I think we had a very smooth conversation today!. So I hope you get what I mean to say!

ME: Yes sir I definately do!

INT: It was nice taking to you have a great day!

So this was my experience about CapGemini!
