1. New species of Hydroid discovered in Red Sea
i. An international team of biologists have discovered a new species of hydroid polyps emitting green fluorescence in the Red Sea. 
ii. These species were found during the investigations of the biodiversity of coral reefs of the archipelago Farasan south of the Red Sea near Saudi Arabia.

2. India’s first Aviation Park to come up in Gujarat
i. Gujarat state government has decided to set up India’s first aviation park near Bagodara village in Ahmedabad district to strengthen the aviation sector.
ii.  In this regard, state government has given this task to Gujarat State Aviation Infrastructure Company Ltd (GUJSAIL) to carry out the project.

3. Maharashtra tops in Internet Readiness Index: IIRIS report
i. As per recently released Index of Internet Readiness of Indian States (IIRIS) report, Maharashtra has topped in terms of the overall Internet readiness index. The report has been compiled and published by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and Indicus Analytics.

4. Rajendra K Pachauri appointed as Executive Vice Chairman of TERI
i. Rajendra Kumar Pachauri has been appointed as Executive Vice Chairman of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). The post of Executive Vice Chairman was recently created in TERI and Mr. Pachauri becomes person first person to hold the post.

5. Uttar Pradesh Panchayati Raj Minister Kailash Yadav passed away
i. Uttar Pradesh Panchayati Raj Minister Kailash Yadav passed away in Gurgaon after reportedly suffering a brain stroke. He was 65. 
ii. He was a senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and a cabinet Minister in the present Akhilesh Yadav government and was considered close to the SP Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.

6. Union Government releases Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 for North-East
i. Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas (MoPNG) has released the Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 for north-east India. The Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 outlines steps to leverage the hydrocarbon sector for social and economic development of the north-east region. 
ii. The states covered under it are Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, Mizoram and Tripura.

7. February 10: National Deworming Day
i. Every year on 10 February is observed as National Deworming Day to combat parasitic worm infections among preschool and school-age children across India. 
ii. This year it is second edition of the observance of this day after it was launched in 2015 by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

8. National Arogya Fair-2016 concluded at Dehradun
i. The 4-day National Arogya Fair concluded successfully at Dehradun in Uttarakhand.
ii. The themes were based on Immune system, Homeopathy in Women's disorders, Treatment in Ayurveda, Yog se Arogya and Non-Communicable Diseases management in Siddha System etc.

9. World’s largest concentrated solar plant opened in Morocco
i. The Noor Ouarzazate Solar Complex, world’s largest solar power plant, was opened on 4 February 2016 in the Souss-Massa-Drâa area in Morocco, 10 km from Ouarzazate town.
ii. The plant holds the capacity to produce enough energy to power over one million homes by 2018 and reduce carbon emissions by an estimated 760000 tons per year.
iii. Phase One of the project involved the construction of a 160MW concentrated solar power (CSP) plant named Noor I, while Phase Two involved the construction of the 200MW Noor II CSP plant and the 150MW Noor III CSP plant, and Phase Three will involve the construction of the Noor IV CSP plant.
iv. The World Bank partially financed construction of the plant through a 97 million US dollar loan from the Clean Technology Fund.

10. Quinton de Kock of South Africa became fastest cricketer to make 10 ODI centuries
i. Quinton de Kock, the wicketkeeper-batsman of South Africa, became the fastest to make 10 One Day International (ODI) centuries. He took mere 55 innings to reach as many centuries.
ii. He achieved the feat during the third ODI match against England at Centurion. In the match, South Africa riding on knock of 135 runs of Kock defeated England by seven wickets chasing 318 runs.
iii. With this, he broke the record of Virat Kohli of India who took 80 innings to reach as many centuries.
