1. DRDO to conduct captive flight trails of Anti-Radiation Missile
i. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has decided to conduct captive flight trials of an advanced, state-of-the-art Anti-Radiation Missile (ARM) in April-May 2016. 
ii. During captive flight trials DRDO scientist will evaluate performance of the missile’s heat seeker, structural capability, navigation and control system and aerodynamic vibrations. Later by end of 2016, actual ground testing will be conducted and later it will be fired from Su-30 during the actual flight trial.

2. Former UN Secretary General Boutros Ghali passes away
i. Former United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali passed away in Cairo, Egypt. He was 93. Mr. Boutros-Ghali was Egyptian politician and diplomat who had served as sixth UN Secretary-General from 1992 to 1996. He was United Nations’ first secretary-general from Africa.

3. Union Government unveils National Capital Goods Policy 2016
i. The Union Government has unveiled a National Capital Goods Policy 2016 to give an impetus to the capital goods sector and the Make in India initiative.
ii.  It was unveiled by Union Minister of Heavy Industry & Public Enterprise Anant Geet on the occasion of the Make in India Week held in Mumbai, Maharashtra. 
iii. This is for the first time, Union Government (Ministry of Heavy Industry & Public Enterprise) has framed such national policy for the capital goods sector.

4. India participates in Cobra Gold 2016 multilateral exercise
i. For the first time, India has participated in the Cobra Gold 2016 multilateral exercise hosted by Indonesia after 12 member Indian Army delegation joined it.
ii.  In this edition of multilateral exercise, India has accorded as an observer plus status keeping in view its increasing regional operability. Decision regarding India’s participation was earlier conveyed to Thailand during Vice President Hamid Ansari’s visit to the country.

5. Commemoration of Tatya Tope’s 200th birth anniversary

i. Commemoration 200th Birth Anniversary of Tatya Tope, one of the notable generals in India’s First War of Independence (1857-58) of Revolt of 1857 was observed in NewDelhi. On this occasion, Union Ministry of Culture with the support of Nehru Memorial Museum and Library had organized a national conference and special lecture.

6. Sindh becomes first Pakistan province to adopt Hindu Marriage Bill
i. Sindh became the first Pakistan province to adopt landmark Hindu Marriage Bill, 2015 in order to allow the minority community to register their marriages. 
ii. This is for the first such a law is being passed since formation of Pakistan in 1947 to safeguard rights of Hindus, a second largest religious minority community in the country.

7. Jharkhand gets first Mega Food Park at Ranchi
i. Jharkhand’s first mega food park was inaugurated by Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal at village Getalsud in Ranchi district of state. 
ii. This park is promoted by Jharkhand Mega Food Park Pvt. Ltd and seeks to give an impetus to the growth of the food processing sector in the state.

8. M Devaraja Reddy elected as ICAI President
i. Devaraja Reddy has been elected as President of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He will have tenure of one year of ICAI which is an apex body of Indian Chartered Accountant. 
ii. Prior to this appointment, he was Vice President of ICAI for the Council Year 2015-16. He is chartered accountant from past 28 years.

9. 2016 SouthAsian Games concluded; India finished at top with 308 medals
i. 12th South Asian Games (SAG) 2016 concluded at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Sarusajai of Guwahati, Assam. The game that saw 228 events in 23 sports disciplines was held from 5 February to 16 February 2016.
ii. Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Sarbananda Sonowal declared the Games closed at a colourful closing ceremony. The main attraction of the closing ceremony was different bands played from the north eastern region, namely Still Waters (Sikkim), The Soul Rebels (Arunachal Pradesh), Salvator (Manipur), Boomarang (Mizoram) and Purple Fusion (Nagaland).

10. West Bengal government launched Utkarsh Bangla Scheme for school-dropouts
West Bengal government launched Utkarsh Bangla Scheme for school-dropouts
i. WestBengal government launched Utkarsh Bangla Scheme, a welfare scheme for school-dropouts, in Kolkata.
ii. Utkarsha Bangla is aimed at giving vocational training to school dropouts. Each youth will get training ranging from 400 to 1200 hours. The school-dropouts will be trained free of charge in tailoring, driving, repairing television and other electronic equipment and beauty courses etc.

11. Indian Railways won 36th National Chess Team Championship
i. Indian Railways on 14 February 2016 won the 36th National Chess team Championship in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. For the Indian Railways team it was the first ever title.
ii. To win the championship the team defeated Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) team in the final.
