1. SC allows pictures of CMs, Governors, Ministers in Government Advertisements

i. The Supreme Court has allowed publication of photographs of Governors, Chief Ministers and the Ministers of the department concerned in government advertisements.
ii.  Ruling in this regard was given by a SC bench headed by Justice Ranjan Gogoi on pleas by Union Government and states which had sought review of the Supreme Court judgement.
iii. This ruling of Supreme Court has modified its earlier 2015 order which only had permitted photographs of President, Prime Minister and Chief Justice of India (CJI) in the government advertisements.

2. India inks $35 million loan agreement with WB for MP project

i. India has signed loan agreement of 35 million dollars with the World Bank for Madhya Pradesh citizen access to responsive services project. The loan has been sanctioned by the World Bank’s concessionary lending arm International Development Association (IDA).

3. Union Government launches FCI’s Depot Online System

i. Union Government has launched Depot Online System of state run Food Corporation of India (FCI) to bring transparency and minimise storage losses of foodgrains. It was launched by Union Food and public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan in New Delhi as part of Digital India initiative of Union Government.

4. IMD deploys Drishti for providing real time visibility information to pilots

i. The India Meteorology Department (IMD) has deployed indigenously developed Drishti, an instrument that will provide real time visibility information to pilots.
ii.  The instrument will help pilots in quick decision-making during critical landings and take-offs of aircraft particularly during foggy or rainy days.

5. Punjab Government notifies swine flu under Epidemic Disease Act

i. Punjab Government has notified swine flu (H1N1) under the Epidemic Disease Act to prevent the spread of disease in the state.
ii.  In the regard, Health and Family Welfare Department of state has issued notification based on recommendations of state advisory committee headed by Dr. D Behera.

6. 10th Asian Film Awards announced; The Assassin won maximum awards

i. The 10th Asian film awards were presented on 17 March 2016 in Macau, China. 'The Assassin', a movie about a highly trained female assassin bagged prizes for, best actress and best director.
ii. The movie took home more than half of the prizes, eight out of 15 trophies, at one of Asia's leading film awards.
iii. Hong Kong Action Choreographer-director Yuen Wo-ping and Japanese Actress Kiki Kirin received the Lifetime Achievement Award on the occasion.

7. Vijay Mallya resigned as Director of Royal Challengers Sports Private Limited

i. The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) intimated Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that Vijay Mallya had resigned from his post as the Director of Royal Challengers Sports Private Limited (RCSPL).
7. Vijay Mallya resigned as Director of Royal Challengers Sports Private Limited
ii. Following this, an official from the RCB, Russell Adams was named as the new Director of RCSPL and also assumes the role of being the vice-president of Commercial Operations and Cricket Academy at RCB. The intimation was was followed the BCCI's insistence on clarity regarding the ownership of RCB.

8. AP fibre grid project launched

i. The Andhra Pradesh Government has embarked upon the ambitious AP Fibre Grid project to provide broadband and net connectivity to all households in the State and it will facilitate e-governance and stimulate economic growth, according to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
ii. He was speaking evening after inaugurating the phase one of the AP State Fibre Grid project taken up by AP State FiberNet Ltd (APSFL) to provide broadband and net connectivity to all households at affordable rates.
