1. NASA’s Juno spacecraft completes fourth flyby of Jupiter
i. NASA’s solar-powered Juno spacecraft completed closest flyby of Jupiter mysterious cloud tops for the fourth time. All eight of Juno’s science instruments were switched on during the flyby.

2. Single-dose Zika vaccine works in animals: study
i. According to recent study, an innovative vaccine made from genetic material protected lab animals from the Zika virus in experiments.
ii. A single, low dose of the vaccine shielded mice exposed to Zika five months after the shot. Even monkeys exposed five weeks after they were innoculated were also not affected by the virus.

3. February 4: World Cancer Day
i. The World Cancer Day (WCD) is observed every year on 4 February across the world to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment.
ii. The theme (tagline) between 2016 and 2018 WCD is “We can. I can”. It reflects on what everyone can do to raise awareness of cancer and asks to take pledge and action in fight against cancer.

4. Railway Ministry, Italy’s FS group sign MOU for technical cooperation
i. The Union Ministry of Railways and Italy’s public sector rail company Ferrovie Dello Stato Italiane Group (FS Group) has signed MoU for technical cooperation in rail sector especially in the area of safety and modernisation.

5. Indians most oblivious to cyber attacks targeting banks: Capgemini Survey
i. Indians seems to be most oblivious about the risks from cyber-attacks on systems at banks and financial institutions.  

6. Railways allocated Rs 500 crore for CCTV cameras at 983 stations: Minister
i. The Indian Railways has been provided with Rs 500 crore for installation of CCTV cameras at 983 stations, Minister of State (MoS) for Railways Rajen Gohain said.

7. Sanjeev Sanyal appointed as Principal Economic Adviser in Finance Ministry
i. The government appointed noted economist Sanjeev Sanyal as the principal economic adviser in the Ministry of Finance.

8. Virat Kohli remains top T20 batsman, India rise to second on ICC rankings
i. Virat Kohli maintained his top spot in the latest ICC rankings of T20 batsmen while India have gained a spot by virtue of their series win against England to climb to the second spot in the team rankings.
ii. Kohli leads number-two ranked Aaron Finch of Australia by 28 points, while Glenn Maxwell of Australia is third. Kohli is ranked second in Tests and third in ODIs which makes him the only Indian batsman in top five across all formats.

9. Top  Scientist, Economist in fray for AMU Vice Chancellorship
i. Renowned economist Dr. Abusaleh Shariff and leading Biomedical research scientist Dr Shahid Jameel have emerged as the contenders for the post of Vice Chancellor at the prestigious Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). 
ii. The university’s highest decision making body AMU Court will meet on Saturday to elect three names from the five names proposed by the Executive Committee.
